Wilson (John) is born in Roxbury.

The son of immigrants from British Guiana, John Wilson graduates from Roxbury Memorial High School, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and Tufts University. He studies in Paris and in Mexico, and becomes a painter and sculptor, and teaches at Boston University from in 1964 to 1986.  A longtime resident of  Brookline, he dies there on January 22, 2015.
